The European Quality Assurance Register (EQAR) aims to improve transparency in terms of quality assurance for higher education and therefore promotes mutual trust in the EHEA.
EQAR includes those European quality agencies that have been able to demonstrate acceptable credibility in the examination carried out on them (of their evaluation processes, accreditation, etc.) compared to the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance (ESG), a collection of minimum standards agreed by signatory countries to the Bologna Process.
The creation of this register aims to encourage student mobility by improving trust between higher education institutions and facilitating the choice of different quality agencies by higher education institutions, provided that this is supported by national legislation.
