The Bologna Process and the implementation of its different initiatives and mechanisms has led to the revitalisation of existing initiatives and the launch of many others, designed to facilitate the recognition of qualifications in the European Union.
The European Quality Assurance Register (EQAR) aims to improve transparency in terms of quality assurance for higher education and therefore promotes mutual trust in the EHEA.
ECA stands for European Consortium for Accreditation in higher education. Its principal objective is to promote mutual recognition of the decisions about accreditation and the quality of institutions and study programs as a tool for encouraging the recognition of higher education qualifications and the mobility of students and graduates.
In the London Communiqué it was decided to promote and encourage mutual recognition of national decisions in the field of quality assurance, such as the accreditation of institutions and study programs.
ENIC is the acronym for European Network of Information Centres (for academic recognition and mobility). ENIC was created by UNESCO and the Council of Europe. This network compiles the information from each country on the recognition of foreign qualifications, facilities for mobility including grants and loans, etc.
